Lonely Planet

Introducing the travel pioneer to the city traveller market

Campaign / Creative direction

Brief

Lonely Planet required a big-hitting campaign to mark the relaunch of their famous City and Pocket guidebook ranges.

Solution

After developing the concept of ‘Every city tells a story’, we commissioned artist Adrian Brannan to travel to four iconic locations – London, Paris, San Francisco and Singapore. Adrian created a series of bespoke photo-collage artworks that captured the stories, souls and vibrancy of the cities. These artworks became a hugely memorable campaign that reached four million people over three months. Campaign extensions included a successful exhibition of the original artworks.

Posters on the London Underground.

Ads created for national magazines and newspapers.

“From concept development to creative execution, the team geared this project towards impact, inspiration and results.”

Pip Blitz, Marketing Manager, Lonely Planet

The successful exhibition held in Central London, showcasing the four commissioned artworks alongside other works by Adrian Brannann.
