Opening art up to the whole community post-pandemic

Brief
Due to the ongoing pandemic and the limitations on holding events indoors, the 2021 Deptford X art festival took the form of an outdoor art trail, hosted in community spaces, businesses and gardens across the area. We were tasked with creating an adaptable festival brand which could be owned, adapted and shared by the while community, who would be hosting art interventions in the most unlikely places.
Solution
We created an ‘OPEN’ brand, made up of shapes and messages which were used and adapted by artists, hosts or community groups to make their own assets, signage and promotional materials. The colours and shapes were designed to bring a fresh, positive presence throughout Deptford, which was just emerging from the second lockdown.
